About Laini

Laini Garsden

Laini is a teacher trained to teach in adult, prenatal, assisted needs, kid's, Hatha Vinyasa and Yin yoga varieties.  Her aim is to help overcome the epidemic of "busy" and its negative impacts on our health, restoring "self-love" in mind, body and overall quality of life for all beings.


"I was born oversees and adopted to Australia since I was a baby. Growing up I was faced with many identity issues and subconscious deeply set beliefs that I wasn't worthy of love. I can relate to the way this plays out in many people's lives despite their history. Yoga has taught me a lot about having compassion for myself and therefore others around me. It has helped me to understand how I can truly serve others by loving upon myself first. 


Yoga has been like a road map, its helped me to navigate back to a sense of 'whole' in a way that is authentic to myself and my purpose. It has guided me through the 'road blocks' in my own life and always directed me towards becoming a better person. It has really shown me how to trust in the process of the universe and let go of control and all the fears we create and hold onto. I hope by sharing my story it can inspire you to take your own step towards your own yoga practice as the benefits are truly so much more than just a physical practice."

The Collective Studio Casino

 The Collective Studio Casino opened in 2019. 

The concept is to promote an holistic approach to wellness, through community engagement. We provide inclusive creative workshops, yoga services and events within our local communities and encourage anyone to come and nourish themselves in studio and connect.

We support local artists, brands and business women in the area, offering a retail opportunity for art work/products. We also provide private hire of the space for your own special events.

Its my first time. What do I need to bring?

All you need to bring with you is a drink bottle, and a towel (optional) in warmer months. If you have a yoga mat that you would prefer to use from home you're encouraged to bring it along to class. Alternatively, we have all mats, props and equipment in studio.

How early should I arrive to class?

For first time visitors, you are encouraged to arrive 15-20mins prior to class start time to fill in a client registration form and get a brief induction to show you how to set up with equipment before class begins. 


For everybody else, please arrive 5-10mins early to ensure there are no disruptions for your fellow yogis and class can get off on time.

How do I know what 'style' of yoga class to choose?

Just like we are all different, so too is our yoga tastes! Simply U Yoga offers a variety of different styles of yoga to give you a range of options and a balanced variation in your week. 

  • Yin/Restorative - Deeply restorative and relaxing - no weight bearing and long holds in poses. Great for anyone who wants a meditative, calming practice or the lesser mobile.
  • Back to Basics - Anyone of sound mobility who is starting out your yoga journey and curious to learn basic alignment and breathing techniques.
  • Yoga Nidra - 20 min guided relaxation and deep rest for the soul. Perfect for anyone suffering anxiety, depressions, blood pressure issues, insomnia.
  • Power Yoga - An invigorating way to start your day, dynamic and postural strength. 

I'm not flexible, can I still do yoga?

You don't need to be flexible to come to yoga! That would be like needing to spell or read before going to school. Just be prepared to come to class with no judgement, be open hearted, open minded about your class and your practice.  

What does Hatha Vinyasa mean?

The words 'hatha' and 'vinyasa' are from the ancient Indian language called Sanskrit. Quite often you will hear teachers speak Sanskrit in their yoga classes calling poses by their original names rather than English translations. Hatha yoga is the lineage of yoga we come from in most modern classes, a way of breathing, moving and purifying the mind and body to manipulate our life/energy. Vinyasa - generally used in a class involving one pose flowing to another to formulate a series of movements and breathing techniques. It has also been incorporated in some classes as the series of specific movements including Plank pose - Upward dog - Downward dog.  Don't be overwhelmed by this. All Simply U Yoga classes are generally at a beginner level and easy options will be given as alternatives.

How often should I do a yoga class?

Yoga has so many benefits, the more often you do practice and stick to it, the quicker you will notice changes happening in your body/mind. Like all things, consistency is key!

How much does it cost?

There is a range of prices dependent on how often you wish to practice and what fits your routine? A consistent practice means more benefits you will notice, much quicker than if you only come once per week. 

  • Unlimited classes membership - $25/wk
  • 10 x classes (6 months validity to use) - $150
  • Single adult class - $20
  • Student/concession class - $15
